Choose and Book is a new service that allows you to choose your hospital or clinic and book an appointment with a specialist.

When patients need to be referred to a consultant or other healthcare practitioner 'Choose and Book' will enable their GP to askwhere they want the treatment to take place. They will then be able to 'book' the appointment on the spot and leave the surgery with their appointment time and date. If preferred, patients can make their appointment later - after consulting with family carers or colleagues - either on-line or through a telephone booking service. (http://www.chooseandbook.nhs.uk/)

Ascribe has been awarded compliance certification from the NHS ‘Connecting for Health’ (CfH) program for the following solutions:

•  CaMIS Patient Administratio System (PAS)
•  ePEX Mental Health & Community Care PAS

The company has submitted additional Choose & Book solutions to the Connecting For Health compliance testing authority and these include our Barwick PAS solution, developed initially by Barwick Systems.

Our compliant systems enable users to ‘publish’ available services as ‘slots’ to the central NHS Choose and Book’ appointments system, which can then be booked online by primary care requesters, such as GPs.
