Ascribe's Child Healthcare systems record new birth notification, pre-school surveillance, immunisation and vaccination and school health examinations. The design is underpinned by the Child Health Informatics Consortium’s (CHIC) specification and has been designed to include additional functions such as ‘relational registration’. Selected elements in the child’s record can automatically trigger a ‘significant condition’ to draw attention to potential areas for concern and / or risk, e.g. low birth weight, head circumference etc.
Referrals and contact with services, external to health screening and GP surgeries, are supported through the integral nature of the system and can be automatically triggered as a result of an attended screening or examination.
Consequently, children can be registered at birth, monitored through pre-school surveillance, V&I and school health examination, whilst at the same time be seen by other care professionals in other settings with access to record resultant care against the same record.
Ascribe has developed a link between Child Health and Neonatal screening services / systems. A complete history of care can thus be maintained within the system and dependent on Trust security protocols, can be accessed by all professionals involved in the child’s care ranging from HV, GP, Audiometrist, Optometrist, DN, CPN, Paediatrician, Consultant Psychiatrist etc.
Ascribe's Child Healthcare IT solution is unique when set against many other information systems; it is part of a more comprehensive set of systems designed to support the needs of the modern local health community comprising Primary Care Trusts, Care Trusts, Acute Mental Health Trusts including Learning Disabilities, Child Health and Elderly Services.
