This solution is delivered to you through a customised installation process that is designed to meet your specific requirements in a timely and efficient manner.

Modules in more detail:

Clinical Pharmacy Assessment
The system allows pharmacists to screen and intervene on prescriptions where necessary. Once prescriptions have passed screening, they can be marked as patient's own, ward stock or for dispensing. For intervened prescriptions, the prescriber is alerted, and once they have been resolved, they are returned for screening by the Pharmacist.

Parenteral Nutrition
The system calculates patient-specific nutrition or feeding regimens for both adults and paediatrics. Prescriptions are clinically checked against the patient’s clinical details, to check for allergies to ingredients, or to avoid interactions with patients’ medication, etc.

Prescription Tracer
This module is fully integrated and is web-based therefore enabling information to be accessed through the Trust's intranet or from a standard web-browser. This means that the status of any prescription can be viewed in 'real time' from any terminal within the Trust that has intranet access. It monitors work-flow through the pharmacy department and can therefore be used to determine any 'bottle-necks' and will enable you to plan and allocate resources to match peak demand. Prescription Tracer can be used as a method for prioritising prescriptions and has full reporting capabilities.

Civas - Extemporaneous Manufacturers
Ascribe CIVAS & Manufacturing facilitates the preparation of aseptic products, such as intravenous and cytotoxic medications. The system will create labels and worksheets for a requested product, including formulae, methods and worksheets. The system also facilitates batch production, enabling large quantities of commonly used products to be prepared in one session.

Stock Management
The ascribe Stores module has the capacity to manage stock held in a department, hospital or throughout an entire Trust or healthcare organisation. The software ensures accurate audit trails are maintained throughout order, receipt and reconciliation process. The trail follows from the allocation of stock, through to the ward, department and ultimately the patient. Ascribe provides for EDI interfaces for electronic ordering and receipt, finance interfaces (accounts payable and general ledger) and reconciliation and financial tools, enabling the whole purchase order process to be streamlined. The system supports multiple locations and has been shown to reduce stock holding and will track batches. Bar coding is available throughout the system, and can be applied to patients identifiers as well as stock.

Ward Stock Control
Ward stock lists can be created for single or many locations.A list of items for the ward can be issues from these lists and left pending until issued. A full to-follows facility is available. The ward stock top up service can be streamlined by use of handheld devices. Bar coding is also available throughout the system, from stock control, batch tracking to ward stock top up, allowing fast and efficient input of information into the system.

Formulary and System Maintenance
System Reference files can be locally updated and may include fields updated by the Decision Support Service. Local formularies can be defined with pharmacy being alerted to the status of items being dispensed for example Formulary, non-formulary, restricted or consultant only.

Standard Reports,Clinical costing and Data Analysis
Standard operational reports are distributed with the system with their content, format and names being configured during implementation to closely model individual workflow process. Our reporting tool is capable of delivering multi dimensional data views on any transactional data within the system for example year on year reports and allows users to perform deep data analysis.

Paperless Electronic Nurse Administration
Nurses are prompted to administer doses according to the prescription schedule. Administration is recorded at the bedside using convenient touch screen hand held devices. This ensures the administration record is updated in real time and that doses are not missed, reducing medication errors.

Decision Support
The system offers the prescriber a choice of suitable dosage regimens for the patient based on patient age, weight and body surface area. Additionally prescriptions are checked against the patient's whole record for allergies and drug-drug interactions and duplication. This further ensures the safety and consistency of prescribing. The comprehensive drug data files are conveniently updated over the web.

Finance Manager and Financial Interfaces
Enabling the production of balance sheets for stock holdings and individual stock lines. Coupled with Ascribe's EDI ordering interfaces and Accounts Payable interface ensures the system will always find discrepancies and demonstrate financial integrity of drug expenditure and purchasing data. The Ascribe system will support Trust's further in automating information transfer by providing a General Ledger and Accounts payable interface.
